UDI Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday! It's time for Sketch Challenge 203 on the UDI blog! Here is today's sketch.

I had Ruthie on my mind as I created my card.  Her mom passed away Thursday night.

The color scheme is Island Indigo and Whisper White.  I flipped the banners and the ribbon bow.  The Whisper White layer was embossed with the Chevron folder.  The banners were adhered to the back of the sentiment panel, and the panel was adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Check out the rest of the design team's creations on the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Word Play.  Ink- Island Indigo.  Paper- Whisper White, Island Indigo.  Accessories- Big Shot, Chevron embossing folder, 3/4" Square punch (for banners), Island Indigo ruffled ribbon, dimensionals.

Thinking of You

Happy Friday! The first week of school has gone pretty smoothly so far. The 2nd week may not go as smoothly though. It all depends on Isaac. The kids have already been told to watch the news...school may be canceled on Monday. I don't wish Isaac on anyone, but I sure don't want him to head this way!

Today's card is one I made for a friend of mine who lost her mom last week.

The card base is Naturals White topped with another layer of Naturals White that was embossed with the Fancy Fan impressions folder.  I left the bottom of the panel smooth to stamp the sentiment.  It's from Curly Cute.  The Midnight Muse scallop circle is from the Perfect Pennants die.  It's topped with a 1 3/4" Circle punch. The butterfly from Papillon Potpourri was stamped and punched out with the Elegant Butterfly punch.  It was outlined in Midnight Muse.  The antennae are stamped on the circle of card stock and there are rhinestones for the body.  More rhinestones in front of the sentiment add the finishing touch.   I really hope it made her day a bit brighter when she found it in her mailbox.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Curly Cute, Papillon Potpourri.  Ink- Midnight Muse.  Paper- Naturals White, Midnight Muse.  Accessories- Big Shot, Fancy Fan embossing folder, Perfect Pennants die, Elegant Butterfly punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

Saturday Sketch Challenge 202

Happy Saturday! It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog!   Here is today's sketch!

My card is a special one today.  My baby (my daughter, Lauren) starts her freshman year of high school on Tuesday.  This is for her.  I just want her to know that I am so very proud of the brilliant, beautiful person she has become even when we're butting heads on a daily basis.  :)

Her school colors are black and green, so I used Lucky Limeade, Basic Black and Very Vanilla as my color scheme.  The DSP is from the Festival of Prints pack in the Holiday catalog.  The sentiment is from Word Play and is stamped in Jet Black Stazon.  The largest part of the flower is the new 1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch also in the Holiday catalog.  The 2 smaller flowers are from the Boho Blossom punch.  I crumpled all the pieces up and then pulled the card stock apart on the scallop circle for even more texture.  I attached them together with a Basic Black brad, and then attached the flower to the banner with mini glue dots.

You can see what the other designers created over on the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Word Play.  Ink- Jet Black Stazon.  Paper- Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Lucky Limeade, Festival of Prints DSP.  Accessories-  1 1/4" Scallop Circle punch, Boho Blossom punch, Basic Black brad, mini glue dots.

Saturday Sketch Challenge 201

Happy Saturday! It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog!
Here it is!

I decided to make another Christmas card suitable for mailing.  I used the sketch as landscape instead of portrait.  The card base is Naturals White topped by a layer of Night of Navy.  Then I added another piece of Naturals White that I ran through the Big Shot in the Northern Flurry embossing folder.  The sentiment is also stamped on Naturals White.  I sponged all the Naturals White pieces with Night of Navy ink.  I also sponged the snowflakes.  I spritzed the sentiment and focal layer with homemade Platinum Shimmer mist.  I couldn't capture the sparkle in the picture, but it's there IRL.

You can see what the other designers created over on the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Snow Swirled.  Ink- Night of Navy.  Paper- Naturals White, Night of Navy.  Accessories- Big Shot, Northern Flurry embossing folder, Platinum Shimmer paint, sponge dauber.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge 200

Happy Saturday! It's time for the 200th UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge! Here's the sketch for today.

I created a Christmas card with it.  It's clean and simple and can be mailed with just one stamp.  :)

The card base is Naturals White followed with another layer of Naturals White embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots folder.  The Midnight Muse strip was punched with the Scallop Trim border punch.  The focal layer is Bashful Blue.  I stamped the sentiment from Delightful Dozen in Midnight Muse and then stamped the small image from Ornament Keepsakes in Versamark.  I embossed them with Clear EP.

Let me know what you think, and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what the other designers created for you.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Ornament Keepsakes, Delightful Dozen.  Ink- Versamark, Midnight Muse.  Paper- Naturals White, Bashful Blue, Midnight Muse.  Accessories- Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Scallop Trim border punch, Clear embossing powder.

August Stamp to the MAX Blog Hop

Happy August 1st! The Stampin' Up! holiday catalog goes live today! Wait until you see it! You'll be blown away! :) I'll have a link to it in the sidebar once it's posted.  It's also time for our monthly team blog hop. There are 6 stops this month, and we're all linked up so you can see lots of yummy samples from the holiday catalog. (I'll include all of our links at the end of the post just in case there is a problem along the way.)

Welcome to our Stamp to the MAX blog hop! We hope you are inspired by our projects using products from the 2012 Holiday Catalog. You may have arrived from Christina's blog, you may be a regular reader :), or maybe you just stumbled here by accident! However, you found me, I'm glad you're here! I am stop #2 on the blog hop. I created 3 cards for you today.  One is a 3" x 3", and the other two are 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".

First up is the small card. It's a Whisper White base layered with Garden Green and another piece of Whisper White.  The images were stamped in Garden Green and Real Red classic ink with the new Merry Minis stamp set and punched with the new Merry Minis punch pack. I adhered them to the card with dimensionals. This would make a great gift tag!

The first full-size card is a Whisper White base layered with Marina Mist and another piece of Whisper White that was embossed with the new folder, Lacy Brocade.  The ornament is from the new set, Ornament Keepsakes, and was stamped in Marina Mist.  I cut it out with the Big Shot and matching framelit from the new framelits dies called Holiday Ornaments.  The stamp set and matching framelits can be purchased together at a discount!    After cutting, I used the new Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details to outline the ornament and to draw in the bow.  I stamped the sentiment from Curly Cute in Marina Mist on a strip of Whisper White.  I dotted the "i" with more new Silver Sparkle Dazzling Details. Along with being nice and sparkly, it's also flat for mailing with a single stamp.

My last card is also nice and flat for mailing.  I decided to try the "new to me" Triple Time stamping technique that I've been seeing all over the internet.  My card base and mats are Crumb Cake card stock. My stamped layers are Very Vanilla.  I stamped the images from the new set, Scentsational Season in Cherry Cobbler, Garden Green, Soft Suede, Crumb Cake and Daffodil Delight.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  There are also matching framelits for each stamp in this set.  The new framelits are called the Holiday Collection. These 2 items can also be purchased together at a discount!

I  am thrilled with the new Holiday Catalog, and I know you will be, too!  If you need a copy and don't already have a demonstrator, I'd love to send you one.  Just contact me for a free copy.
