UDI Color Challenge 80

Happy Tuesday!  I know, but at least it's not Monday!  LOL

Here are today's colors for the challenge over on the UDI blog.  I'm not really sure about that sweater, but I am really pleased with my card.  :)

The card base is Certainly Celery followed by a mat of Basic Black. I added a neutral (Whisper White), and I used all the colors on that piece!  I pulled my Fifth Avenue Floral set out and dusted it off.  ;)  Then I used one of the flowers to pretty up my card stock.  I stamped it in all the colors except Certainly Celery.  Then I added Certainly Celery to the image layer with the Color Spritzer tool.  I added some Illuminate Top Coat Smooch to the center of all the flowers.  I couldn't get a good picture of the shine, but it is there IRL.  I stamped the sentiment from On Your Birthday in Basic Black and added a Certainly Celery 5/8" satin ribbon bow for the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think of the card, and then head on over to the UDI blog to see the rest of the team's creations.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Fifth Avenue Floral, On Your Birthday.  Ink- Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Old Olive, Island Indigo, Not Quite Navy, Rich Razzleberry.  Paper- Whisper White, Basic Black, Certainly Celery.  Accessories-  5/8" Certainly Celery satin ribbon, Illuminate Top Coat Smooch, Color Spritzer tool.

UDI Sketch Challenge 181

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog!  Here is the sketch Adriana gave us to work with today.

Here is what I created.  Quick and easy.  The card base is Island Indigo.  Whisper White , more Island Indigo and a strip of Twitterpated DSP finish the background layers.
The focal piece is a flower made with the Mixed Blossom punch, the Modern Label punch and the Triple Layer Blossom Bouquet punch.  A Lucky Limeade brad from the SAB bundle finishes off the flower.  The sentiment is from the SAB set, Outlined Occasions. It's stamped in Island Indigo on Whisper White and layered on a piece of Island Indigo.  The flower and sentiment are both adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Let me know what you think and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else created for you.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog.  Here is the sketch from Adriana.

I stayed very simple.  The card base is Very Vanilla embossed with Vintage Wallpaper and sponged with Crumb Cake.  The smaller panel is Very Vanilla sponged with Crumb Cake.  The DSP is from Everyday Enchantment and the ribbon is from the SAB bundle.  The sentiment is from Curly Cute and is stamped in Poppy Parade.  The small panel is adhered to the card base with dimensionals.

See the rest of the team's creations over on the UDI blog.  Have a wonderful weekend!

Here is today's color challenge picture.

UDI Color Challenge 78

Happy Tuesday!  It's time for the UDI Color Challenge!  Today is my first submission as a color team member.  :)   The colors of the day are Concord Crush, Perfect Plum, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla.

I have been wanting to try the herringbone technique and decided that now was the time.  I used the tutorial on SCS.  My strips are Concord Crush, Perfect Plum and 2 patterns of Perfect Plum DSP from the Subtles stack.  My card base is Concord Crush and the next layer is Very Vanilla sponged with Soft Suede ink.  The sentiment is also stamped in Soft Suede and the Labels Framelit is sponged, too.  It's adhered with dimensionals.  I added a piece of Concord Crush ribbon to finish it.

What do you think?  How did I do?  I can't wait to see what next week's colors will be!  Head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the color team created.

Sweet Pressed Cookies

Happy Monday!  I have some yummy goodness to share with you today.  Mr. Brown brought me some new toys on Thursday.  The Sweet Pressed Cookie Stamps were among the goodies in the box.    They come with 2 recipes...sugared shortbread and sugar cookies.  I decided to try the sugared shortbread cookies yesterday afternoon.  The recipe was quite easy to make.  Here are some pictures of my hard work.  ;)  They were so yummy!   I can't wait to make them again!

below:  pressed and ready for baking

Stop back by tomorrow to see what I created for my first UDI Color Challenge.  I have joined the Tuesday Color Challenge team, and tomorrow is my first week participating!  I'm still on the Sketch team, too, so my Saturday posts will continue as well.  I hope to post more than just twice a week, I just need to get organized.  I'm working on it.  Yesterday before I baked, I boxed up all my non-SU! stuff and will be donating it to my daughter's middle school.  I have an entire empty Iris cart now, and I plan on filling it up with some of my alterables that are stashed under the table in boxes. If they aren't boxed up, I may even use them!  ;)

Enjoy your day!

UDI Skettch Challenge 178

Happy Saturday!  I am so ready for the weekend!  :)  Adriana drew the sketches for us for March.  (Can you believe it's already March?!)  Here is the first one.

I stuck right to the sketch and created this card.  The base is Blushing Bride embossed with Perfect Polka Dots. The banner is made from Twitterpated DSP and Cherry Cobbler scallops from the Adorning Edgelits.  I distressed the sentiment strip after stamping the sentiment from Curly Cute in Cherry Cobbler classic ink and running it through the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder. It's adhered to the card with dimensionals.  I wanted to add a bit of sparkle, so I grabbed my brand-new Blushing Bride smooch spritz and gave it a spritz. I think I need to practice my spritzing.  Boy, this card sparkles IRL! I added 2 of the Large Basic Pearls after the smooch spritz dried and called it done.

What do you think?  Does it sparkle enough?  Head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the team created.  There are links to their personal blogs so you can get all the juicy details.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Curly Cute.  Paper- Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler, Twitterpated DSP.  Ink- Cherry Cobbler.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Adorning Edgelits, Blushing Bride smooch spritz, Large Basic Pearls, dimensionals.

Enjoy your weekend!
