UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge #160

Happy Saturday!  It's time for the 160th UDI sketch challenge.  Here is the last of my sketches.  I hope you liked them.  I had fun creating them.  Ruthie will be providing the sketches for November.

I needed a birthday card for a friend and fellow soccer mom, so that's what I made with today's sketch.  I used the colors in the piece of Letters to Santa DSP for my color scheme.  As you can see, it's not just for Christmas.  :)  The card base is Chocolate Chip.  The background piece is Blushing Bride that was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Postage Stamp  and 1" Square punches for the 3 small side pieces.  I used the bottom strip for my sentiment from Curly Cute and the large side panel for my image from Crazy for Cupcakes.  Yummy!  Pear Pizzazz seam binding and some Dazzling Diamonds on the cherries are the finishing touches.

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what the other team members created for you.  I hope you'll play along with us!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Curly Cute, Crazy for Cupcakes.  Ink- Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Pear Pizzazz, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler.  Paper- Very Vanilla, Blushing Bride, Chocolate Chip, Letters to Santa DSP.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, 1" Square punch, Postage Stamp punch, Pear Pizzazz seam binding, Dazzling Diamonds.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another sketch challenge.  Here is the sketch I drew for this week.  I hope you like it and will play along with us.

I decided to make a Christmas card with Dasher.  The card base is Old Olive.  The next layer is Whisper White embossed with the Snowburst embossing folder.  The strip is Real Red punched with the Scallop Trim border punch and a strip of Whisper White.  Baker's Twine is wrapped around the strip.  Dasher and the sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes were stamped in Early Espresso on Whisper White.  The sentiment was punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a Modern Label punch and a Movers & Shapers die.  Self-adhesive rhinestones on each end are the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the team created.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Dasher, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink- Early Espresso.  Paper- Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Snowburst embossing folder, Movers & Shapers die, Modern Label punch, Word Window punch, Scallop Trim border punch, Baker's Twine, Rhinestone jewels.

Happy World Cardmaking Day & a Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday, Happy October and Happy World Cardmaking Day!

Today's sketch was drawn (in MDS) by me!  It's my first one, so go easy on me!

Here's what I created with it.
A Christmas card!  Christmas is just around the corner, you know!  ;)   The card base is Crumb Cake topped with a piece of Real Red that has been embossed in the Snowburst embossing folder.  The image piece is Crumb Cake topped with Very Vanilla.  Dasher was stamped in Chocolate Chip ink.  The corners were adorned with Real Red brads.   The image is mounted to the card with dimensionals.  All the edges were sponged with Crumb Cake ink.  A piece of Crumb Cake seam binding is the final touch.  What do you think?

Head over to the UDI blog to see what everyone created for you today.  I'm excited to see how everyone interpreted my first sketch!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Dasher.  Ink- Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake.  Paper-  Crumb Cake, Real Red, Very Vanilla.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Snowburst embossing folder, Brights brads, Crumb Cake seam binding, sponge, dimensionals.
