Halloween Treat Box

Happy Thursday!  I know, I'm posting, and it isn't even Saturday yet!  Don't fall over! ;)

Things are crazy busy around here these days, but I made some time to try one of the 6-sided boxes I've seen all over the internet.  It really is soooo simple to make!  First you need the Milk Carton die for the Big Shot.  Cut 2 of them from your choice of paper.  Cut the 4th side off of each piece (not the side with the tab). Crease all the score lines really well with your bone folder.   Adhere them together and voila!  You can punch holes in each top tab and use ribbon to close it or just push the tabs down like I did.  It stays closed just fine.  If you have any questions, just ask!

Here's my Halloween edition.  I can see making these for place settings at Thanksgiving!  I kept this one pretty simple.  The DSP is long retired.  It's called Creepy Crawly and is from 2 years ago, I think.

See you tomorrow if I can make some more time to create.  If not, then Saturday for sure!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none.  Ink- none.  Paper- Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Creepy Crawly (retired).  Accessories-  Big Shot, Milk Carton die, Sticky Strip.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Today is the last of Tammy's September sketches.  I think she did a great job on them!  Thanks so much, Tammy!  Well, let's see what we had to work with this week.

I went Clean And Simple with my card.  I used the UDI Color Challenge for inspiration as well.  :)  A Whisper White layer embossed with the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder is adhered to a Whisper White card base to mimic the polka dot DSP in the sketch.  Hearts punched with the Heart to Heart punch take the place of the oval shapes and are adhered with dimensionals.  That's it.  Easy peasy.

Let me know what you think, then head on back to the UDI blog to see what the other team members created for you.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- none.  Paper- Whisper White, Peach Parfait, Melon Mambo, Lucky Limeade, Garden Green, Daffodil Delight.  Accessories- Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, dimensionals.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  Can you believe it's already the middle of September?!?  It sure doesn't feel like it outside!  We're still in the high 90s every day!  Today's sketch was just what I needed to cool off a bit.  :)  Here is Tammy's sketch.

My card base is Whisper White topped with a layer of Night Quite Navy.  The next layer is a piece of Shimmer White.  I ran it through the Big Shot in the new Starburst embossing folder, and then I ran it through again in the Stripes embossing folder.  I went with the snowflakes as my shapes.  I tried to punch them out with the Snowflake punch, but it just didn't work for me.  I ended up using the Snowflakes #2 sizzlits.  I love this Silver Glimmer paper!  It is just gorgeous IRL!   I could not get a good picture of all the sparkle and shimmer.

You can head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the team has created for you today.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

UDI Sketch Challenge

I can't believe it's already Saturday!  This week just flew by for me!  It's time again for another UDI Sketch Challenge.  Here is Tammy's 2nd sketch.

I needed a birthday card, so that's where I went with this one.  I made another accordion flower.  This time I added a Bitty button that I actually sewed on with Baker's twine.  :)  The DSP is Just Add Cake, and I used the coordinating colors Blushing Bride, Wild Wasabi, So Saffron and Whisper White.  The square is from the Scallop Squares Duo Big Shot die.  I also used the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, the Scallop Edge border punch, the Modern Label punch, the Word Window punch, the Boho Blossoms punch, the Itty Bitty punch pack and the 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch.

Head on over to the UDI blog for links to the other team members' creations.

Enjoy your weekend, and take some time tomorrow to honor those that lost their lives 10 years ago.

UDI Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  Today begins a new era.  ;)  We're going to be taking turns with the sketches.  Tammy is drawing the sketches for us this month.  Here is her first one.

I took the opportunity to make an accordion flower with my all-new Simply Scored tool.  You can find it in the Holiday mini!  The flower and the circles are all from the DSP, Just Add Cake.  The card base is So Saffron and is layered with Poppy Parade and a Perfect Polka Dot embossed Wild Wasabi layer.  A glimmer brad finishes off the accordion flower.  I left it sentiment-free for now.

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else created for you today.

Enjoy the holiday weekend!
