UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Happy Saturday!  I can't believe it's already the end of April!  Where is the time going?  This week flew by so fast.  Most likely because it was Spring Break for my kiddos.  It's back to school on Monday to get ready for final exams.   Just 29 school days left.  Wow!  Anyway,...

Here is today's sketch.  I just had to flip it.  Really, I had to.  ;)  I love how my card ended up today!   See that line down the center of Carol's sketch?  That became the center of my gate-fold card.  The base is Daffodil Delight which was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The panel is Melon Mambo topped with a piece of handmade DSP.  I used Flower Fest from the upcoming Summer Mini.  I stamped the different images in Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise and Wild Wasabi.  Then I spritzed the piece with Tangerine Tango.  I used the Dotted Ribbon border punch with Melon Mambo cardstock.  The sentiment from Occasional Quotes (Hostess Level 3) is stamped in Melon Mambo on a piece of Whisper White.  I stamped a flower in Daffodil Delight in 2 corners and used the Melon Mambo marker to make some dots in the other 2 corners.  It's layered on a Tempting Turquoise mat.   It's so fun and bright!  It feels just like summer...just like the weather here!  ;)
Let me know if you like today's card, and then head on over to Leonie's.  We're all hooked up, but just in case there are missing or broken links, Carol has a list of all of us over on the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Flower Fest, Occasional Quotes.  Ink- Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Wild Wasabi, Tangerine Tango.  Paper- Daffodil Delight, Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Dotted Ribbon border punch, Color Spritzer tool.

UDI Sketchy Saturday

Happy Saturday! It's time for another Saturday Sketch Skip. :) Today's sketch was a simple one. I think Carol is trying to make it up to us since she threw all those crazy ones at us. LOL  Here's the sketch.  I didn't flip it or change shapes or anything today!

The card base is Crumb Cake followed by a layer of Naturals White and a piece of Botanical Gazette DSP.  The sentiment is from Occasional Quotes, a Level 3 hostess set.  I sponged the edges of all the layers except the DSP with Early Espresso.  Then I sponged the DSP and the sentiment piece with Champagne Shimmer paint.  It is so sparkly and pretty.  You'll just have to take my word for it since I could not get a decent picture of the sparkle.  ;)  I used Sticky Strip to attach the Crumb Cake seam binding along the edge.

I hope you like my card today.  Let me know what you think, and then head on over to Leonie's blog.  We're all linked together, but you can also find links to all of us over on the UDI blog.

Enjoy your weekend!  Have a blessed Easter!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Occasional Quotes.  Ink- Early Espresso.  Paper- Naturals White, Crumb Cake, Botanical Gazette DSP.  Accessories-  Crumb Cake seam binding, Scallop Edge border punch, Champagne Shimmer mist.

SU! STARS April Blog Hop

Welcome to the SU! STARS April Blog Hop.
We are a group of SU! demonstrators that love
Scrapping, Teaching And Rubber Stamping (STARS)!

I just joined the group, and this is my first SU! STARS blog hop!  This month's blog hop features ABC projects...Anything But a Card!  :)  If you are starting the blog hop from here, don't worry. You can continue the hop from here since we are all linked together.  If you started the hop from the SU! STARS home blog, then you arrived here from Monica's blog. Her projects are always gorgeous!

For my ABC project, I chose to create treat boxes.  I have 2 different boxes both made from the Petal Cone die.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my Big Shot!  :)

First up is a traditional Petal Cone.  I turned it into a carrot by using Peach Parfait cardstock and Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain ribbon.  After cutting and before assembling the Petal Cone, I ran the pieces through my Big Shot on the Woodgrain Texturz plate.  I then sponged the pieces with Pumpkin Pie ink to bring out the texture.  The image is from A Good Egg.  Don't you just love that little peep guy?!  He was stamped on Naturals White, Daffodil Delight DSP and Peach Parfait DSP  in Jet Black StazOn.  I cut out the DSP images and paper pieced them on the card stock.  His beak is colored with Tangerine Tango.  I sponged the 1 3/8" Circle punch with Daffodil Delight ink and adhered it to a Daffodil Delight Fancy Flower punch that was run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I also sponged the flower with Daffodil Delight ink.  The flower is adhered to the cone with dimensionals.  This makes an adorable Easter favor!  Just change the colors and images, and you can make favors for any occasion!

My 2nd treat box is a cute little take-out box also made from the Petal Cone die.  I used Naturals White card stock for the box and belly band.  The accent color is Regal Rose.  The belly band is 1" X 9".  There is a piece of Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain attached to the belly band.  The topper is a flower made from the Fancy Flower punch with Regal Red card stock and Regal Rose DSP.  I used the Faux Suede technique on the card stock.  I attached an antique brad to the center of the flower and used it to attach the flower to the belly band.  My Crop-a-dile made it oh-so-easy to punch a hole through the ribbon and card stock. This little box would make great wedding or birthday favors!  It would make a great favor box and will coordinate with any of your occasions with just a change of colors!

I hope you enjoyed my projects!  After you leave me some comment love and let me know what you think of my boxes, head on over to Jackie's blog to see her fabulous ABC project.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- A Good Egg.  Ink- Jet Black StazOn.  Paper-  Naturals White, Peach Parfait, Daffodil Delight, Regal Rose. Accessories-  Big Shot, Petal Cone die, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Woodgrain Texturz plate, Brights button, Antique brad, Fancy Flower punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Crop-a-dile, Old Olive 1/4" grosgrain, Regal Rose 5/8" grosgrain, dimensionals, sponge.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge on Friday!

Happy Friday!  Hooray for the weekend!  I'm posting my sketch challenge card a day early.  I'm participating in a blog hop tomorrow, but I didn't want to miss out on the sketch challenge.  :)  If you're here on Friday, I'm including links, but the other projects won't be posted until tomorrow.
Here's the sketch Carol drew for us.  I knew just what I wanted to do with it.  I flipped it on its side and used squares in place of the 3 circles.  I used a flower instead of the last circle.  :)

I used Naturals White for the card base.  The next layers are Night of Navy and Daffodil Delight.  I ran the Daffodil Delight through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, and then used my paper trimmer and bone folder to score a line at the end of the dots.  That left a smooth spot for my sentiment.  The Night of Navy strip was run through the crimper, and a piece of Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta was wrapped around it.  I attached a DSP flower made from the Birds & Blooms sizzlit with a Clear rhinestone brad to the strip.  The images are from Every Little Bit and are stamped in Jet Black Stazon on  1" square pieces of Naturals White.  I colored them with my markers.  Each image has some Dazzling Diamonds added to it for just a little something. They are adhered on a Postage Label punch (SNEAK PEEK available in the Summer mini...May 1st!) in Night of Navy.  The sentiment is from Tiny Tags and punched with the Jewelry Tag punch.  A Rhinestone jewel is the finishing touch.

I love my so fun, summery card!  How about you?  Let me know what you think, and then head on over to Leonie's blog.  If you get lost or run across a broken or missing link, Carol will have a list of all of us at the UDI blog.  (Don't forget...they'll be up Saturday morning.)

Enjoy your weekend!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Tiny Tags, Every Little Bit.  Ink- Night of Navy, Jet Black Stazon, Melon Mambo, Tangerine Tango, Basic Black, Daffodil Delight.  Paper-  Naturals White, Night of Navy, Daffodil Delight.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Birds & Blooms sizzlit, Postage Stamp punch, Jewelry Tag punch, Rhinestone jewels, Clear Rhinestone brad, Daffodil Delight 1/8" taffeta, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue pen, dimensionals, sponge.

UDI Sketchy Saturday

Good Saturday morning!  It's time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog.  Here's what Carol gave us to work with today.  It was an easy one for me.

I pulled out my package of Botanical Gazette DSP and the stamp set, Nature Walk.  I picked out the DSP first and then used the matching stamp.  The card base is Naturals White (LOVE it!).  I color spritzed the top with my Crumb Cake marker.  I also sponged all the Naturals White card stock and the DSP with Crumb Cake ink.  I used Early Espresso for the mats.  Victoria Crochet trim is adhered to the Early Espresso strip.  The butterfly is stamped in Early Espresso on Naturals White and punched out with the 1 3/4" Circle punch.  That is layered on a 2" circle from the Circles #2 Big Shot die.  The image piece is adhered with dimensionals.  I stamped the sentiment on top of the strip to match the DSP.  That's it.  Easy peasy. I'm pleased with the final result, and I can use it for a number of occasions.

Let me know what you think, and then head over to Jeannette's.  We're all linked up, so enjoy the skip.  :)  Carol has a list of everyone back at the UDI blog just in case there is a broken or missing link.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Nature Walk.  Ink- Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.  Paper- Naturals White, Early Espresso, Botanical Gazette.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Circles #2 die, 1 3/4" Circle punch, Victoria Crochet trim, Color Spritzer tool, dimensionals, sponge.

Enjoy your weekend!

Happy birthday to my baby!

Good Thursday morning!  It's my baby's birthday today!  Somehow I blinked, and now she is 13!  How in the world did that happen?!  Especially weird since I'm still 25. ;)

This is the card I made for her.  She picked out the DSP, and I used the sketch on SCS for the layout.  The card base and the image panel is Naturals White.  I also used Pear Pizzazz and Concord Crush card stocks and DSP.  The image is from Crazy for Cupcakes, and the panel is adhered with dimensionals.  I used the Glimmer paper and the smallest circles on the 2-Step Owl punch to make some sparkly cherries.  I added Silver Glass glitter to the cupcake stand.  There is a Glitter brad in the center of the Pear Pizzazz double-loop bow.  (Thanks, Sharon, for teaching me how to make the bow at the Orlando Regional!)  No shortage of bling for my baby!  :)

Here is a baby pic and a pic from the other day just for fun!  I love you, baby girl!

Easter Basket

Happy Wednesday!  Today's project is one I found on Angie's blog.  It's a cute, little Easter basket.  :)

I used Pear Pizzazz card stock for the basket and handle. The handle is punched with the Dotted Ribbon border punch and attached with Ice Circle rhinestone brads.  The DSP is from the Level 1 hostess pack.  My chick is from A Good Egg and is stamped in Jet Black stazon and colored with So Saffron and Tangerine Tango.  His eggshell is paper pieced with the back side of the basket DSP.  I punched him out with the 1 3/4"Circle punch and layered that on a 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.  It's stamped on Whisper White, punched with the Word Window punch and layered on a Modern Label punch.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- A Good Egg, Teeny Tiny Wishes. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, So Saffron, Tangerine Tango.  Paper- Whisper White, Pear Pizzazz, Level 1 Hostess DSP pack. Nature Walk Make-n-Take

Happy Monday!  My weekends sure do fly by these days.  :(

Today's card is another make-n-take from the Orlando Regional.  I sure hope this set makes it into the big book in July.  :)  This was my first attempt at ruffling ribbon on a card.  I think I'm too picky for this technique.  I can't tell you how many times I ripped the seam binding up and started over again.  LOL  The card base is Naturals Ivory card stock.  The DSP is Botanical Gazette and is spritzed with Not Quite Navy ink.  The birdcage is stamped with Early Espresso on more Naturals Ivory (and then stamped again on the envelope without reinking) and spritzed with Not Quite Navy and Early Espresso (the envelope was spritzed, too).  Champagne shimmer paint was sponged on the entire piece and along the edges of the DSP.  It's very pretty IRL.   The 2 flowers are punched from Cherry Cobbler with one of the punches from the Itty Bitty punch pack.  Two small Basic Pearls adorn their centers.  The seam binding that I fought with is Crumb Cake, and it's adhered with Sticky strip. The image panel is adhered to the card with dimensionals.

Enjoy your Monday!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Nature Walk.  Ink- Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso.  Paper- Naturals Ivory, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Botanical Gazette DSP.  Accessories- Crumb Cake seam binding, Itty Bitty punch pack, Basic Pearls, Color Spritzer tool, Champagne shimmer paint., sponge dauber, dimensionals.

UDI Sketchy Saturday

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another UDI Sketch Challenge!  The sketch this week was nice and simple.  Quite a change from last week's! LOL   Since I've stuck to the last few sketches just as Carol drew them, I decided to flip this one on its side.  :)

The base is Peach Parfait followed by a layer of Not Quite Navy and a piece of the Spring is Blossoming promo paper, Paisley Petals.  Love this paper!  It will be in the 2011-2012 IB&C in July.   The sentiment is from the Level 3 hostess set, Occasional Quotes.  The ribbon is Pumpkin Pie taffeta, but I think it matches the Peach Parfait perfectly.  I added some Rhinestone Jewels for a touch of bling.   That's it.  Easy peasy.

Leave me some comment love and then head on over to Jeannette's blog to see what she created for you today.  We're linked to each other, but you can find a list of all us at the original post on the UDI blog just in case.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Occasional Quotes.  Ink- Not Quite Navy.  Paper- Peach Parfait, Not Quite Navy, Whisper White, Paisley Petals DSP.  Accessories- Pumpkin Pie taffeta, Rhinestone Jewels.
