A Banner Day

Happy Wednesday!  Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of March!?  Crazy!  Time is just flying these days!

Tomorrow is the last day of Sale-A-Bration!  Don't miss out on your favorites!  Also, it's the last day to get the starter kit at a 15% discount and the free bundle worth $50.00!  Plus, I have a Summer mini set to give to the first person to join my team by the 10th!  Join by tomorrow for maximum freebies!  :)  You can call me for more info or click here if you're ready to join!

I do have a project to share with you today.  ;)  It was one of the make-n-takes at the Orlando Regional.  I finally finished all of them.  :)
It isn't quite the same as the original one, but it's really close.  I used a different alphabet and different embellishments, plus, I changed up some of the letter colors.  It's the first banner I've attempted, and I really like it.  It was so easy to make.  Guess what it's made from...the Petal Cone die!  That thing should be on your next order if you don't already have it!!!  Love it!

That's it for me today.  I hope you all have an awesome 2nd half of the week!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Lovely Letters.  Ink- Old Olive, Cherry Cobbler, Not Quite Navy, Early Espresso.  Paper- Naturals Ivory, Old Olive, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, Botanical Gazette DSP.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Petal Cone die, Brights button, Vintage Trinkets brads, Pear Pizzazz seam binding, 2 3/8" Scallop Circle punch, Itty Bitty Shapes punch, 1 3/8" and 1 3/4" Circle punches, Linen thread, Pearl basic jewels, sponge.

UDI Sketchy Saturday

Hello.  You have reached the blog of Elizabeth Harris.  I'm not in today.  I'm in Orlando at the Stampin' Up! Regional!  :)

WooHoo!  Today is the Stampin' Up! Regional in Orlando.  I have been looking forward to this since they announced the date!  :)  I hope to see some old friends there, and I will be meeting up with some new friends, too. (Thanks, Max!) I have been working on swap cards this week so I don't have anything done for the sketch today.  I'm sure the other team members will have lots of inspiring projects for you, though, so head on over to Jeannette's and see what she came up with today.  You can also see the original challenge and find links to all the members back at the UDI blog

Enjoy your weekend!

Ornate Blossom

Hello, stampin' friends!  It was an absolutely gorgeous day here in Tampa yesterday.  The weather has been perfect except for the pollen.  My poor white vehicle is wearing a yellow coat.  LOL  My allergies are really bad right now, so I broke down and went to the doctor for some help.  My prescription is no longer working, so I got a different one along with some steroids and a lovely shot.  Thank you very much, Dr. C!  ;)  Hopefully, I'll be feeling better soon.  Enough about my allergies!  Let's get to the card!

I have another card using Ornate Blossom (which I got for FREE during SAB!) for you today. The card base is Very Vanilla followed by a layer of Basic Black.  The background panel is Cherry Cobbler that was run through the Big Shot in the Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder.  The Ornate Blossom was stamped on Very Vanilla in Cherry Cobbler and mounted on a Basic Black mat.  A piece of Very Vanilla taffeta completes the look.

It's a really simple, but elegant card.  I've left it without a sentiment for now.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps-  Ornate Blossom.  Ink- Cherry Cobbler.  Paper- Very Vanilla, Basic Black, Cherry Cobbler.  Accessories- Big Shot, Vintage Wallpaper embossing folder, Very Vanilla taffeta.

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

The weekend is finally here!  It sure did take its sweet time getting here this week.  :)  Since it's finally Saturday again, it's time for another UDI sketch challenge.  Here is what we had to work with today.

Here is what I created.  I think this may be one of the worst cards I've ever made.  LOL  I'm not sure what happened.  I'm going to blame it on my eyes.  I had them dilated today, and that obviously affected my vision more than I thought.  :P    My first idea was to use some DSP strips for the 3 "hanging" elements.  That's how I picked the colors.  It didn't look right with the DSP, but I already had the card stock cut, and I didn't want to start over.  I decided to use ribbon instead of DSP.  Instead of a circle, I used my FREE (during SAB) For You flower stamp.  I stamped it in Old Olive on Old Olive card stock and punched it out with the Fancy Flower punch.  Then I stamped it in Peach Parfait on Whisper White and punched out the middle with the 1 3/8" Circle punch.  There is a tiny heart in the words on the stamp, but I wanted a bigger one so I punched one out of Glimmer paper with the 2-Step Owl punch.  When it was all put together, the ribbon looked crazy just hanging there, so I added some bows.  The strip at the top is Old Olive with a piece of Peach Parfait punched with the Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch.  The Peach Parfait background was run through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.  I can't seem to make a card without my Big Shot these days.  ;)

After you have gasped at my creation, head on over to Jeannette's.  I'm sure she'll have something much better for you.  :)  We're all linked, but you can always head back to the UDI blog if there are any broken or missing links.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- For You Flower.  Ink- Old Olive, Peach Parfait.  Paper- Whisper White, Old Olive, Peach Parfait.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Dotted Scallop Ribbon border punch, Fancy Flower punch, 2-Step Owl punch, 1 3/8" Circle punch, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain.

A Birthday Wish

Happy Friday!  I am so glad the weekend is almost here! My kiddos are out of school today and Monday.  I guess it's to tide them over since Spring Break isn't until the week after Easter.  (I told my boss that the office should be on the school's schedule, but he didn't go for it.  LOL)  Anyway...

Today's card is for one of my co-workers.  I hope she likes it.  I love Marina Mist and Daffodil Delight together.  :)

The card base is Whisper White.  The Marina Mist layer was run through the Big Shot in the Framed Tulips embossing folder and then sponged with Marina Mist ink.  Another piece of Whisper White and a piece of Daffodil Delight run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder are the final layers.  All the Whisper White pieces were sponged with Marina Mist ink. The sentiment from On Your Birthday was punched with the  Wide Oval punch and layered on a Lots of Tags sizzlit die-cut and adhered with dimensionals.  Two Rhinestone jewels add just a bit of bling.  Marina Mist taffeta is the finishing touch.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- On Your Birthday.  Ink- Marina Mist.  Paper- Whisper White, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots & Framed Tulips embossing folders, Lots of Tags sizzlit, Marina Mist taffeta,  Rhinestone jewels, sponge, dimensionals.

Enjoy your weekend!

UDI Saturday Sketch Challenge

Good Saturday morning!  It's time for another UDI Sketch Challenge!  Here's the sketch Carol gave us to work with today.  I just altered it a bit.  ;)

Here's my take on it.  I used Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight and Whisper White for my color scheme.  Seems very springy to me.  :)  Ornate Blossom is a stamp I got for FREE since it's SAB time!  I added some Rhinestone jewels to bling it up some.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny wishes.  The image panel and the sentiment are both adhered with dimensionals.  A piece of Marina Mist taffeta is the finishing touch.  What do you think?

Now you can either head on over to Jeannette's blog or to the UDI blog.  We're all linked together, but Carol has posted a list of everyone just in case.
Enjoy your weekend!   If you have a moment, say a prayer for all those affected by the earthquake and tsunamis.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Ornate Blossom, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink- Marina Mist.  Paper-  Whisper White, Marina Mist, Daffodil Delight DSP.  Accessories-  Scallop Edge border punch, Scalloped oval punch, Medium & Large oval punches, Marina Mist taffeta, rhinestone jewels, dimensionals.

New MDS Spring Blog Banner

Happy Wednesday!  I finally got around to changing my blog banner.  I know it's still technically winter, but it has been absolutely gorgeous down here in Florida!

Here's what I came up with in My Digital Studio.  What do you think?

Another Sketchy Saturday

Wow!  I can't believe it's been an entire week since I last posted.  I am so sorry!  I've been busy with my day job, but I really need to find some time for me.'s Saturday!  Yay!  It's also time for another sketch challenge on the UDI blog.  Today's sketch really had me in a quandary.  Then I decided to use it to my advantage.  ;)  I left it just as it was drawn and made a masculine, clean and simple birthday card.  I only have 2 packs of current DSP (you should see the stack of retired stuff!), so I went with Jolly Holiday.  It's not just for Christmas, ya know!

The card base is Very Vanilla followed by Cherry Cobbler and then another piece of Very Vanilla.  I ran that one through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I sponged the DSP, sentiment layer and embossed layer with Cherry Cobbler ink.  The sentiment is from Full of Life.  That's it.  Simple.

Let me know what you think, then head on over to Jeannette's blog and see what she did with the sketch.  We are all linked together, but you can also visit the UDI blog in case there are any broken or missing links.

Enjoy your weekend!
