Saturday Sketch Skip

Happy Saturday!  I am so glad the weekend is finally here!  It's time for another UDI Sketch Challenge.  Here is the sketch Carol drew for us today.  I turned it on it's side.  When it was upright, I couldn't get 'volcano' out of my mind.  LOL

I kept the card really simple.  The cardbase is Lovely Lilac.  The image from Because I Care ( a Level 1 hostess set available July 1st) is stamped on Whisper White.  I colored the stamp with Lovely Lilac and Garden Green Markers.  Then I went back and 'thumped' Elegant Elegant on the flower.  I love the depth it gives the flower.  The sentiment and image below it are from the same set and are stamped in Elegant Eggplant.  A piece of Whisper White taffeta is the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think, then skip on over to Leonie's blog.  (Jeannette is taking the day off for more graduation festivities).  As always, you can find all the links at the original post on the UDI blog.

Scraps of Inspiration

Happy Thursday!  Here's the pic for the UDI Inspiration Challenge.  He looks so sad!   I don't think he likes his monkey suit.  LOL  I used the monkey for my inspiration today.

I pulled out some scraps from the piles of retiring cardstock on my table.  :(  I chose Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow, Close to Cocoa and Blush Blossom.  I used the sketch from Stampin' Connection (a demo-only SU! website).   It's a very simple card, but I have been so busy this week, that my mojo was pooped.

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the team created.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Fox & Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink- Chocolate Chip.  Paper-  Mellow Moss, Sage Shadow, Close to Cocoa and Blush Blossom.  Accessories-  Circle punches, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Scalloped Edge punch.

Saturday Sketch Skip

Happy Saturday!  I hope you all have some time set aside for being creative this weekend!  Do you have big plans for Father's Day?  My dad is in GA, so I won't be seeing him.  I sent his card out earlier this week, and I hope he received it in time!
Here is the sketch Carol drew for us today.  I turned it on its side and used it for a scrapbook layout.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE my My Digital Studio!  I'm not a big scrapbooker, but this program makes it soooo easy!
This is a picture of my kiddos, my MIL and her youngest granddaughter enjoying a day at Busch Gardens.  We have passes and only live about 20 minutes away, so we are there quite often.  :)   We were there just this past weekend, as a matter of fact.  Boy, was it HOT!   Thank goodness for the Congo River Rapids!  LOL

Let me know what you think of my scrapbooking skills ;), and then head on over to Jeannette's blog to see what she has for you today.  We're all linked up so you can just keep clicking and skipping to all the blogs.   If there are any broken or missing links, just head on back to the UDI blog.  Carol has links to all of us at the original post.

Inspiration Thursday

Happy Thursday!  I used today's challenge to get a Father's Day card made for my dad.  I used colors and theme from the picture as inspiration...Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Whisper White and trees.  :)

My card base is a piece of Old Olive that was run through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.  The next layers are Chocolate Chip and Whisper White run through the Big Shot with the Top Note die.  I trimmed the perforated edge off the piece of Whisper White and sponged the edges with Old Olive.  I stamped the large tree image from Lovely as a Tree in Chocolate Chip.  (Lovely as a Tree is such a classic set.  I'm so glad it wasn't on the retiring list!)  The sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes is stamped in Old Olive on Whisper White and punched with the Word Window punch. Linen thread is tied around the Top Note layers for added interest.  What do you think?  Is it masculine enough?

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what inspired the rest of the team.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Lovely as a Tree, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink- Old Olive, Chocolate Chip.  Paper- Whisper White, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Top Note die, Word Window punch, Linen thread, sponge dauber.

UDI Inspiration Challenge

Happy Thursday! Besides being time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge, it's the last day of school here!  Bring on the summer!  :)  Today's picture is perfect for summer.  Well, it's perfect for any time here in FL.  ;)

My first thought was to  make a punch art ice cream sundae, but I decided to keep it simple instead.  I used the colors and the patterns for my inspiration.  The card base is Bashful Blue.  The next layers are Kraft (soon to be Crumb Cake) and Whisper White.  All the layers are sponged in Bashful Blue.  I wheeled the Friendly Words Jumbo wheel in Bashful Blue.  I adhered the Whisper White to the Kraft layer and ran them both through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  A piece of Bashful Blue taffeta is the finishing touch.  Simple, but pretty.

You can see what the rest of them team created by heading over to the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- Bashful Blue.  Paper- Whisper White, Kraft, Bashful Blue.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Bashful Blue taffeta, sponge.

An Award!

I received an award from my friend, Carol, in Michigan.  Isn't she just the sweetest?!!  I have made the bestest friends through Stampin' Up!...most of whom I have never even met in person.  I have been lucky enough to meet Carol in person.  We met at the SU! convention in 2008.  We're meeting up again this summer.  I can't wait!

On to the award...I am supposed to tell you 10 things about myself.  Don't fall asleep.  ;)

1.  I am the oldest of 4.
2.  I have 1 brother and 2 half-sisters.
3.  Both my parents are on marriage #3.
4.  I am terrified of flying.
5.  I went to Maui for my honeymoon.  (Can you picture a terrified newlywed on a plane from FL to HI?  LOL)
6.  I have 2 great kiddos.  After tomorrow, they will be 7th and 8th graders.  ACK!
7.  I have lived in Tampa my entire life.
8.  I love, love, love to read.
9.  I passed on my love of reading to both my kiddos.

Congratulations, Graduate!

Happy Tuesday!  I haven't posted on a Tuesday in ages!  It feels great to be able to create something.  This card is for a friend's daughter.  Her graduation ceremony is today, and I'll be seeing her at her party on Saturday.  She is graduating from the same high school I graduated from 22 years ago.  Yikes!

I used the school colors and the Go, Graduate set available in the Summer mini.  The card base is Night of Navy.  The next layer is also Night of Navy.  I stamped the cap all over it in Silver Encore ink (retiring), and then ran it through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder (also in the Summer mini).  I stamped the image and sentiment in Jet Black Stazon on a piece of Whisper White at the same time.  I just lined them both up on one block.  I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new clear-mount stamps!  I colored the image with watercolor pencils, a blender pen and a few SU! markers.  A piece of Bashful Blue taffeta and some Silver elastic cord (retired) finishes off the card.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Go, Graduate.  Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Silver Encore.  Paper- Whisper White, Night of Navy.  Accessories- Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Bashful Blue taffeta, Silver elastic cord, dimensionals.

Saturday Sketch Skip

Happy Saturday!  Here is today's sketch from Carol.   I decided to make a bright, fun card.   I pulled out some Crushed Curry and Bermuda Bay for my colors.  How's that for bright?  LOL   I used the Scallop Trim punch on both sides of the Bermuda Bay strip.  After adhering it to the card base, I ran the whole thing through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder.  (I am addicted to that folder!) I punched out 3 butterflies from Razzleberry Lemonade DSP, and I gave them half-pearl accents.  I finished off the card with a piece of Bermuda Bay Polka Dot grosgrain ribbon.

Skip on over to Leonie's blog to see what she has for your viewing pleasure today.  If any of the links are broken or missing, just head on over to the UDI blog.   Carol will have all the links there for you.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none.  Ink- none.  Paper- Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP.  Accessories:  Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Scallop Trim punch, Butterfly punch, Bermuda Bay Polka Dot grosgrain, Pretties Kit, mini glue dots.

UDI Inspiration Challenge

Happy Thursday!  It's time for another challenge on the UDI blog.  Here is the picture Maria chose for today's challenge.  Aren't they just adorable?!  I took the picture literally today, and I used the cute fox from Fox & Friends along with the green and brown color scheme.

My card base is Creamy Caramel covered by a piece of Garden Green and then Very Vanilla.  Another piece of Creamy Caramel run through the Big Shot in the Square Lattice embossing folder makes a great background for my 3 little guys.  They are stamped on Very Vanilla in Creamy Caramel ink.  They are all punched with the Small Tag punch then layered on a Garden Green Tag punch.  A piece of Linen thread is tied around the background layers.  The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes.

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what the rest of the team came up with today.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Fox & Friends, Teeny Tiny Wishes.  Ink- Creamy Caramel.  Paper-  Creamy Caramel, Garden Green, Very Vanilla.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Square Lattice embossing folder, Small Tag and Tag punches, Linen thread.
