Sketchy Saturday

Happy Saturday!  It's time for another Saturday Sketch Skip!  :)  Here's the sketch Carol came up with for us.  There's an extra challenge thrown in to use rub-ons.

I am so tired of the cold.  I know...it's not like I'm snowed in or anything.  I just want my normal Florida weather.  I do not like temperatures in the 20s and 30s! I want the 70s!  LOL  I'm thinking Spring with today's card.

My card base is Certainly Celery.  The next layer is Bashful Blue that's been run through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  The "grass" layer is actually an egg holder.  Yep, it's from the Eggcellent Eggs Kit in the Occasions mini catalog.  The rhinestones on the butterfly and the rub-ons on the butterfly and ribbon are also from the Eggs Kit.  It's not just for eggs!  The gorgeous Pretty in Pink satin ribbon can be found in the Occasions mini also.

Are you thinking Spring now?  Let me know if it worked.  :)  Now skip on over to Jeannette's blog and see what she has created for your viewing pleasure.  You can also find links to all the team members back at the UDI blog.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink, Bashful Blue (all sponged).  Paper- Bashful Blue, Certainly Celery, Barely Banana, Pretty in Pink.  Accessories- Big Shot, Beautiful Wings embosslit, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, 1 3/8" Circle punch, Eggcellent Eggs Kit, Pretty in Pink satin ribbon.

Inspiration Thursday

It's Thursday!  Time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  For today's card, I used the colors as inspiration.

I kept the card very simple.  A Whisper White card base.  A Basic Black layer with Pinking Hearts borders, a layer of Bride Specialty DSP and a piece of 5/8" Real Red grosgrain with a tailored bow.  The sentiment is from Whimsical Words and is stamped in Jet Black Stazon.  That's it.  Clean and simple.

Let me know what you think and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what the other team members have been inspired to create!

Another Happy Birthday!

Hello!  I have another birthday card to share today.  It's much brighter and more playful than yesterday's card.
I started with a Bermuda Bay card base.  The next layer is Crushed Curry.  I used the Scallop Trim border punch on both sides of it.  A layer of Basic Black is next.  Then I stamped the cupcakes from The More the Merrier on Whisper White.  I used the Faux Diamonds technique on the image panel after I colored the cupcakes with my In Color markers.  (You may be able to see the sparkle better if you click on the picture.)  I wrapped a piece of Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain around the top 2 layers and adhered the piece with dimensionals.  The sentiment is from Happy Moments.

See you back here tomorrow!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- The More the Merrier, Happy Moments.  Ink- Versamark, Jet Black Stazon, Bermuda Bay, Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry.  Paper- Whisper White, Bermuda Bay, Basic Black, Crushed Curry.  Accessories-  Scallop Trim border punch, Melon Mambo polka dot grosgrain, Iridescent Ice EP, dimensionals.

Happy Monday!

I needed something bright and cheerful so I've changed my blog banner.  I need to make a new one for Spring, but this one will do for now.  :)
My birthday card stash is almost non-existent, so I made a couple this weekend.  The first one is a simple one.  It's a 4 1/4" square card.  The base is Whisper White.  The layers are Chocolate Chip and a piece of Welcome Neighbor DSP.  I used the Scallop Trim border punch on the bottom of the DSP.  The image from Happy Moments is stamped in Chocolate Chip on Whisper White and layered on a piece of Chocolate Chip.  I colored the image with Taken With Teal and Pumpkin Pie markers.  The sentiment from the same set is stamped in Chocolate Chip in the bottom corner.  That's it.  Easy peasy.  I've got another birthday card to share tomorrow.  See you then!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Happy Moments (SAB).  Ink- Chocolate Chip.  Paper- Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Welcome Neighbor DSP (SAB).  Accessories-  Scallop Trim border punch (SAB).

Something new for Sketchy Saturday

Good Saturday morning!  Well, it's actually Friday night.  I'm posting a bit early to make sure everything works correctly.  :)  The sketch team has decided to change up the way we do things a bit.  We're going to be posting links to the next team member.  Sort of like a blog hop except it's a sketch skip.  I just made that up...don't mind me.   LOL   You can click on the links in everyone's post to get to the next team member's blog.  We're just going in alphabetical order except for Carol, our sketch mom.  She'll be last in the skip.  You can still find links to all our blogs in the original post at the UDI blog in case you get lost or a link doesn't work.  Be sure to let us know what you think of the new idea.  :)

On to the sketch.  I flipped it on its side for my card.  I started with an Old Olive card base followed by a piece of Chocolate Chip and a piece of DSP from the Welcome Neighbor pack. (It's free for SAB!)  I adhered the DSP to the Chocolate Chip and ran them both through the Big Shot in the Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder.  I used the Daisies #2 die for the circle in the sketch.  The petals are sponged with So Saffron, and a Chocolate Chip corduroy button is attached to the center.  A piece of 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain and a piece of 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain finish off the card.  I left it without a sentiment for now.

Let me know what you think, then head on over to Jeannette's blog to see what she created for the sketch.  (Her project may not be posted yet.  Just check back in the morning if it's still Friday night.)

Supplies(all sU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- So Saffron.  Paper-  Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Old Olive, Welcome Neighbor DSP.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Daisies #2 die, Perfect Polka Dots embossing folder, Chocolate Chip corduroy button, 5/8" Chocolate Chip grosgrain, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain.

Inspiration Thursday

Morning!  It's time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  Today's picture is just too cute.  I went with the teddy bear and the picnic theme.  I am really pleased with the final result.

I stamped the bear from Cute & Cuddly on Whisper White in Timber Brown stazon (retired) and colored him in with Creamy Caramel and a blender pen.  Of course, the blender pen cap rolled off my desk and disappeared.  It's a good thing I have lots of them.  (I'm sure my dog will find it for me.)  I decided to do something fun for his tummy, muzzle and ears.  I am scissor-challenged, but I was brave!  I made a piece of Faux Suede with Creamy Caramel cardstock.  Then I stamped the bear again and cut out all the parts.  Aren't you proud of me?  LOL  I recreated the picnic blanket by rubbing my Real Red ink pad over the Squares Texturz plate and then running it through the Big Shot with a piece of Whisper White.  I love it!  I sponged the edges of the image panel and the 2 Kraft pieces with Creamy Caramel before adhering them all together.  I finished off the card with a piece of 1/4" Real Red grosgrain.  The bow turned out great, don't you think?!  I used Snail to adhere the long piece.  Then I took another piece and used the bunny ears technique for the bow. I threaded it under the already attached piece before looping the ribbon.  That way it's actually tied on the card.  :)

Can you tell I'm really happy with this card?!  ;)  Please leave me a comment and let me know if you like it, too!  Then head on over to the UDI blog and see what everyone else did with today's picture!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps-  Cute & Cuddly.  Ink- Creamy Caramel, Timber Brown stazon (retired).  Paper- Kraft, Real Red, Whisper White, Creamy Caramel.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Squares Texturz plate, 1/4" Real Red grosgrain.

Sketchy Saturday

Happy Saturday morning!  It's time for another UDI Sketch Challenge.  Carol threw in a surprise to go along with today's sketch.  We were supposed to use our least favorite colors.  There really isn't a Stampin' Up! color I don't like (thank goodness they don't have Split Pea green LOL), so I chose my least used color.  I don't think I have ever used Mellow Moss.  Bonus...there's Mellow Moss DSP in the Hostess paper pack!  I made a scrunchy flower out of the Extra Large Fancy Flower punch.  I made my own designer ribbon, too.  I just stamped some Whisper White taffeta with the Dot, Dot, Dot stamp.  :)

After you tell me what you think of my card, head on over to the UDI blog and see what everyone else created.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- All Holidays, Dot, Dot, Dot.  Ink- Mellow Moss.  Paper- Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Patterns III (Hostess Level 1).  Accessories- Extra Large Fancy Flower punch, Scalloped Edge border punch, Whisper White brad, Whisper White taffeta.

Valentine's Teacher gifts

Happy Friday!  The weekend is almost here!   Today I'll be sharing the gift set my daughter is giving to her teachers today.  I know I said I would work on some more milk cartons and a container, but I didn't get it finished.  (The milk cartons are made but not decorated.  LOL)

My daughter made these for her teachers.  She picked out the colors, stamps and paper. I found the mailboxes a few years ago in the Dollar Spot at Target. This year there were pink and red ones.  The paper is retired as is the stamp set on the mailbox flag.  The cards are 3 X 3.  The female teachers are getting pink ones and the male teacher is getting a red one (not pictured...she already closed the envelope.).

I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead of you!

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- I {Heart} Hearts, Happy Heart Day(retired).  Ink-  Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Jet Black Stazon, Pixie Pink.  Paper- Real Red, Pretty in Pink, Whisper White, Christmas Cocoa(retired).  Accessories- Small Tag punch, Tag punch, Small Heart punch, Pretty in Pink 1/4" grosgrain, Real Red 1/4" grosgrain.

Inspiration Challenge 82

Maria's picture is perfect for this week's challenge since Valentine's Day is just around the corner.  I decided to go with the theme and color for today's project.  I made a mini milk carton with the help of the new Mini Milk Carton die in the Occasions mini catalog.  The carton is Real Red.  The strip of DSP is from Sending Love and is so glittery IRL.  The Pretty in Pink strip was punched with the Pinking Hearts border punch.  The Pretty in Pink hearts were punched with the Small Heart punch and the Heart to Heart punch.  A white library clip holds the carton closed.  (I'm going to work on 3 more cartons and a container later today.)

Head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else has in store for you.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- none.  Ink- none.  Paper-  Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Sending Love DSP.  Accessories-  Big Shot, Mini Milk Carton die, Pinking Hearts border punch, Heart to Heart punch, Library clip.

Sketchy Saturday

It's Saturday!  You know what that means!  Another sketch challenge from Carol on the UDI blog.  I needed a birthday card for my daughter's friend, so that is what I made with today's sketch after I turned it on its side.  :)

I used some gorgeous, glittery Sending Love DSP (It's not just for Valentine's Day!) from the Occasions mini and 2 SAB sets I got for FREE!  See that cake?  There are only 10 candles on the original image.  Since B is turning 12, I just drew 1 more on each side.  I know...I'm a genius!  LOL  Let me know what you think, and then head on over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else did with today's sketch.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Happy Moments, Vintage Labels.  Ink- Chocolate Chip, Pretty in Pink, Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Close to Cocoa.  Paper- Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Sending Love DSP.  Accessories-  Scallop Circle punch, 1" Circle punch, Pretty in Pink taffeta, mini glue dots, dimensionals, Stampin' sponge.

Inspiration Thursday

It's Thursday again!  Time for another Inspiration Challenge on the UDI blog.  Today's picture is a lovely spring bouquet Maria found for us.  I used the theme and the colors for my card.

I used Happy Moments with Tiny Tags and the Medium Jewelry Tag punch on my 3 X 3 notecard.  The cardstock colors are Basic Gray and Whisper White.  I colored the flowers with markers in Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink and Garden Green.  The sentiment is stamped in Basic Gray.  The Medium Jewelry Tag punch is outlined in Basic Gray and adhered with dimensionals.  Basic Gray taffeta is the finishing touch.

Let me know what you think and then head on over to the UDI blog to see how everyone else was inspired.

Supplies(all SU!):  Stamps- Tiny Tags, Happy Moments.  Ink- Jet Black stazon, Barely Banana, Pumpkin Pie, Almost Amethyst, Pretty in Pink, Garden Green.  Paper- Basic Gray, Whisper White.  Accessories-  Medium Jewelry Tag punch, Basic Gray taffeta, dimensionals.
