Inspiration Thursday

It's Thursday again! That means it's time for another Inspiration Challenge over on the UDI blog. In today's picture, I used the tin as my inspiration.

I found this little tin in the Target Dollar Spot last year right after Halloween. They were 25 cents each. I bought all of them. LOL I had planned to use them as decorations and centerpieces at Thanksgiving, but it just got too crazy. So I still have gobs of them hanging out just waiting to be loved. ;)

I stamped some of the images from Batty for You and punched them out with the 1 1/4" Circle punch. I layered those on a piece of Pumpkin Pie punched with the 1 3/8" Circle punch. Those pieces are then layered on a piece of Basic Black die-cut with the Big Shot and the small circle from the Scallop Circle #2 die. I used mini glue dots to adhere the images to the craft sticks. I used my paper shredder and a piece of Creepy Crawly DSP (retired) to make the shreds for my tin. I added some gingham ribbon to the sticks and the tin handle to finish off the project. I think I'll use it to decorate my desk in a couple weeks. :)

Have a terrific Thursday!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Batty for You. Ink- Basic Black. Paper- Whisper White, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Creepy Crawly DSP (retired). Accessories- Big Shot, Scallop Circle #2, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches, gingham ribbon, mini glue dots. Misc.- tin, craft sticks, paper shredder.

Birthday Medallion

Happy Monday! I hope you are having a wonderful day!

I needed a birthday card for a coworker today, so I was surfing the web for inspiration. I came across this absolutely
gorgeous card, and I used it for my inspiration. Mine is much more subdued, but you can definitely see the resemblance. :)

I stamped the Medallion background stamp in Versamark on Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. I embossed the image with White EP. The image layer was then adhered to a piece of Whisper White and a Crushed Curry base. The pleated ribbon is the back side of the Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon. It's held together with lots of mini glue dots and some SNAIL for good measure. ;) The greeting was stamped in Crushed Curry on Whisper White and punched with the Designer Label punch. I used a Designer Label frame in Vanilla HH to highlight the greeting.

Enjoy the rest of your day! It's the last day of summer vacation here.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Medallion, On Your Birthday. Ink- Crushed Curry, Versamark. Paper- Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Accessories- White EP, Crushed Curry polka dot ribbon, Vanilla HH, mini glue dots.

InspirationThursday and a Sneak Peek!

Here it is Thursday again. The days of summer are flying right out the window. My kiddos go back to school on Tuesday. They will both be in Middle School this year. It seems like just yesterday that they were running around in diapers. Today's inspiration picture took me way back to those days. Neither one of them had a nursery as extravagant as the one in this picture, though, which looks perfect for a Florida baby!

Here's my take on it. I used the colors, theme and stripes for inspiration. The layout is SC144 on SCS. I cut strips of So Saffron, Ballet Blue, Pixie Pink and Certainly Celery and glued them to a piece of scrap cardstock. I ran the whole thing through my Big Shot with the Petals A Plenty embossing folder (available on September 1st!) and adhered it to a piece of Basic Black. The sentiment is from Teeny Tiny Wishes. It's stamped in Basic Black on a piece of So Saffron and punched with the Large Oval punch. It is layered on a Basic Black Scalloped Oval punch. A piece of gingham ribbon is the finishing touch.

Check out the
UDI blog for links to the other team members' creations!

Inspiration Thursday

Happy Thursday! I hope you are all having a fabulous week! I have spent most of mine sick in bed. This is actually the first time I have felt good enough to sit at my computer. The good's not the flu. I'm still waiting for the blood test results to hear the diagnosis. In the meantime, I am taking an antibiotic. I am going to try and get some work done after this blog post. Taking vacation days and not going on vacation is the pits! LOL

Anyway...on to today's inspiration challenge. Here's the link to the original post with links to the other creations! Would anyone actually wear that shoe???

I used the colors and the rose as my inspiration today. I inked up my Manhattan Flower embossing folder with Real Red ink and ran it and a piece of Glossy cardstock through the Big Shot. I cut out around the embossing and used my 2-way glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds on the raised parts. Then I layered it on a piece of Basic Black and cut out a mat. Those 2 layers are adhered to a Whisper White cardstock base. The sentiment is from Oval All and stamped in Real Red. It's punched with the Large Oval and layered on a Scalloped Oval punch.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Oval All. Ink- Real Red. Paper- Whisper White, Glossy White, Basic Black. Accessories- Big Shot, Manhattan Flower embossing folder, Large Oval punch, Scalloped Oval punch, Dazzling Diamonds, 2-way glue pen.

Of the Earth Thanks

Good Sunday morning!

Today's card is a thank you note for my kids' Music teacher from elementary school. I was lucky enough to be the chairman of the 5th Grade Banquet committee for my daughter's class this past school year. We raised lots of money, and we had some left when all the receipts had been paid. The committee met at the beginning of the summer to decide what to do with the excess. We left some for next year's committee and the rest we decided to donate to the music program. That way all the kids will benefit. Tomorrow morning we are surprising the music teacher (who is fabulous BTW) at school. The principal has been hiding the equipment in her office. LOL I can't wait to see her face!

I used the Big Shot and the Scalloped Oval Frame die to make a mask for the So Saffron background. The butterfly is from one of the stamps in the set. I just colored it with a marker to omit the rest of the image.

Enjoy what's left of your weekend!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Of the Earth (Hostess Level 1). Ink- So Saffron, Chocolate Chip. Paper- Whisper White, Crushed Curry, Chocolate Chip. Accessories- Big Shot, Scalloped Oval Frame die, Chocolate Chip polytwill (retired), sponge dauber.

Inspiration Challenge #55

Happy Thursday! It's time for another inspiration challenge over on the UDI blog!

I took my inspiration from the colors and the large circle towards the top. I used SU!'s new background stamp, Medallion, for the focal image. I just got it today along with lots of goodies from the upcoming Holiday Mini! (I've heard different answers on whether or not I can post sneak peeks, so I'm going to wait and call SU! tomorrow.) Anyway, the Medallion is stamped in Not Quite Navy on a Whisper White scallop that I cut out with my Big Shot. I layered it on a Ruby Red square and adhered it to the base with dimensionals. The cardbase is Not Quite Navy. The sentiment is from Fresh Cuts and is tucked nicely behind a piece of Styled Silver Hodgepodge hardware. A piece of Whisper White Satin ribbon finishes the card.

Don't forget to head over to the UDI blog to see what everyone else has created.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Medallion, Fresh Cuts. Ink- Not Quite Navy. Paper- Whisper White, Ruby Red, Not Quite Navy. Accessories- Big Shot, Scallop Circle die, Whisper White Satin ribbon, Styled Silver Hodgepodge hardware, dimensionals.

Happiness ...

is a new home! My mom and her husband get the keys to their brand-new home today. My kiddos and I are going to celebrate with them later by toasting the occasion with some sparkling grape juice. :)

I made this card to give to my mom tonight. I used the Neighborhood wheel and colored the houses in with watercolor pencils, Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Bold Brights) and a blender pen. The brads are SU!'s silver brads that I smooshed on my Jet Black Stazon pad. I lined them up all in a row with my mat pack and paper piercer. I ran the Kraft background layer through the Big Shot on the Distressed Texturz plate. I also ran the envelope flap through. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture. The sentiment is actually part of a sentiment stamp...Heard from the Heart. I used my marker to ink up just the one word. A piece of black gingham ribbon covers the seam between the watercolor paper and the strip of Summer Picnic DSP(retired). The entire image panel is adhered to the Kraft background with dimensionals. I hope she likes it. I am so excited for her!

Enjoy the rest of your day!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Heard from the Heart. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Classic Black. Paper- Kraft, Basic Black, watercolor, Summer Picnic DSP(retired). Accessories- Big Shot, Distressed Texturz plate, silver brads, black gingham ribbon, Neighborhood SA Jumbo wheel, watercolor pencils, Watercolor Wonder Crayons (Bold Brights), blender pen, dimensionals.

In Colors in Flight

Good Sunday morning! I was browsing the SCS gallery this morning and stumbled upon this beauty by geekgirl101. I just had to CASE her. :)

I used the Flight of the Butterfly set and my In Color Markers (WooHoo!) to get my card started. I stamped the butterflies on a strip of Whisper White and then adhered that to a bigger piece of Basic Black. I stamped the swirly Thanks sentiment in Jet Black Stazon on my Whisper White base, and then I ran the front of the base through my Big Shot with the small polka dot Texturz plate. I adhered the image layer to the base and was done. Easy peasy. Ok...not really. I had a heck of a time getting those pretty butterflies lined up. This is not my first attempt. (Yes, I was using my Stamp-a-ma-jig. LOL) Like geekgirl101, I found that CAS is not as easy as it looks. I do think the end result is worth it, though!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Flight of the Butterfly, Thank You Kindly. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Melon Mambo, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Dusty Durango, Rich Razzleberry. Paper- Whisper White, Basic Black. Accessories- Big Shot, Texturz Backgrounds, Stamp-a-ma-jig.

Clean and Simple Sketch Challenge

It's the first of August! Do you know what that means? Stampin' Up! demos can preorder lots of fabulous new goodies from the Holiday mini today! I have 2 lists all ready to go. I just have to decide which one to submit. My kiddos might like some school supplies, so I may have to go with the smaller one. Decisions, decisions. LOL (If you'd like get all the perks, join my team today! There are 2 great specials available! Visit my Stampin' Up! business website to learn more!)

I need to make quite a few thank you notes this weekend. This is one of them. I used the CAS Sketch Challenge for the layout. You can find the challenge
here on SCS.

My card base is Whisper White. I ran another piece of Whisper White through the Big Shot with the SU! exclusive Finial Press folder and adhered it to the base. The image is from a neglected set, Garden Whimsy. I colored it with Crushed Curry and then outlined it in Melon Mambo. The antennae are Basic Gray. The strip of DSP is from Razzleberry Lemonade. A piece of Basic Gray taffeta covers the seam.

Have a great weekend! I hope you have lots of time for creating!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Garden Whimsy. Ink- Crushed Curry, Melon Mambo, Basic Gray. Paper- Whisper White, Basic Gray, Razzleberry Lemonade DSP. Accessories- Big Shot, SU! Exclusive Finial Press embossing folder, Basic Gray taffeta.
