A Diaper Cake

Today is my middle sister's baby shower. My youngest sister and their grandparents (we're half-sisters biologically) are doing most of the shower. I'm just doing a couple appetizers (a cheese/meat/cracker tray and some yummy meatballs) and the diaper cake as the centerpiece. I posted the Thank You cards I made for her yesterday. I can't wait to see her. She and her husband and my nephew live in GA so I don't see them much.

The diaper cake was made using a video tutorial I found on YouTube. It was much easier than I thought it would be. It just took some time to roll all those diapers. LOL The ribbon and topper are from Walmart.

Well, I'm off to get ready to go! Enjoy the rest of your day!

Baby Shower Thank Yous

Happy Saturday! I hope you are enjoying your weekend. Today's post is the thank you cards I made as part of my sister's baby shower gift. (I'll post the diaper cake I made tomorrow.) I kept them very simple so she wouldn't have to pay extra postage to mail them. They are postcard type notecards...just a piece of Whisper White cut to 5 1/2" X 4 1/4". I used the Classic Stripes background, Flight of the Butterfly and Thank You Kindly stamps. The colors are Pink Passion, Green Galore and Lovely Lilac. I also used the Scallop Circle punch, the 1 3/8" Circle punch and the 1 1/4" Circle punch to complete the notes. I hope she likes them. Thanks for visiting!

Get out your sunglasses!

Here it is Thursday again. I am so sorry I haven't posted in almost a week! Life has been crazy busy here. The next few days will be even busier. Here is my card for Inspiration Thursday over on the UDI blog. (Don't forget to click on over and see what Maria and Carol came up with today.) I have no current sea-related stamps so I went with Bold Brights as my color scheme. I used Mojo86 for the layout.

I have loads going on in the next week, but I will be making some time to stamp before then. I need to get end-of-the-year things made for teachers and some administrators, too. I also need to get my sister's thank you notes made since her baby shower is on Sunday. I know...nothing like waiting until the last minute. LOL Stay tuned for pictures of all my projects as I get them completed!

Happy Thursday! WooHoo! Tomorrow is Friday! ;)

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Trendy Trees. Paper- YoYo Yellow, Tempting Turquoise, Whisper White. Ink- YoYo Yellow, Pixie Pink, Green Galore, Creamy Caramel. Accessories- Whisper White grosgrain(tied in 3 knots), Scalloped Edge punch, Word Window punch. Thanks for visiting!

Inspiration Challenge #44

It's Thursday again! Time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge! As soon as I saw today's inspiration picture, I knew what I wanted to do. I dusted off my Inspired by Nature set and went to work. I used sponge daubers to apply the ink to the flowers and then stamped on watercolor paper. I also sponged the edges of the paper with a sponge dauber. A piece of Chocolate Chip grosgrain finishes off the front of the card.

I had to make the inside as pretty as the outside. I used the same technique to ink just the small flower. A sentiment and a piece of grosgrain finish the inside.

Check out the UDI blog for links to more inspiration challenge submissions.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Inspired by Nature, Heard from the Heart. Ink- So Saffron, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel. Paper- Watercolor paper, Chocolate Chip. Accessories- sponge daubers, 1/4" Chocolate Chip grosgrain.

Wacky Wednesday

O.k., so Wednesday is not really wacky. What is really wacky is that this is the 2nd card I've posted that has been made by Robert. LOL Today's card was for his mom on Mother's Day. Isn't it too cute?

He used Tempting Turquoise and YoYo Yellow cardstock along with All Holidays and Ruff Day (retired) stamp sets. The hearts were made with the Heart to Heart punch. The card was from him and his "brother", his mom's dog. LOL His mom loved it!

A Scrapbook Page from Stampin' Up!

Things have been so busy around here lately. The end of the school year is usually fun-filled, but this year it seems to be filled with project after project all due this week! ACK! Since I haven't had a chance to create in so long, I'm going to post a project from the SU! website. It's National Scrapbooking Month, so I thought a scrapbook page would fit the bill nicely.

Simple but beautiful. Click here to see the supplies page.

I hope I'll be able to create something soon!

Inspiration Thursday

It's time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge. I knew I wanted to use bright colorful circles, but I wasn't sure how. I started looking through my stamp sets and pulled out a few with circles. I ended up using Enjoy Every Moment and Think Happy Thoughts. This is my end result...bright colorful circles! LOL I think this would make a great kid's card. I'm sure we'll have some birthday parties before school is out for the summer. ;)

You can check out the UDI site
here. Carol's inspiration card is here. Have a terrific Thursday!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Enjoy Every Moment, Think Happy Thoughts, Birthday Wish. Paper- Whisper White, Green Galore. Ink- Real Red, Green Galore, Brilliant Blue, YoYo Yellow, Pixie Pink, Basic Black. Accessories- Wide Oval punch, 1 3/4" Circle punch, dimensionals.

Tea Bag Holder goes Chocolate!

Hello! Happy Wednesday! I hope your week is going well! Mine has been busy!

Today's post is from the featured tutorial on SCS. I used the alternate directions, and then turned it into a chocolate holder instead! :) My base is Basic Gray cardstock. The band is made from Walk in the Park DSP, Baja Breeze and Vellum cardstock. The sentiment on the front is a rub-on from Loop to Loop (Hostess Level 3). The inside has Baja Breeze on one side for writing a little note, and Baja Breeze and Walk in the Park DSP to decorate the holder.

Enjoy the rest of your week!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Fowers in Silhouette. Paper- Basic Gray, Baja Breeze, Vellum, Walk in the Park DSP. Ink- Not Quite Navy. Accessories- Scallop Circle punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches, Loop to Loop rub-ons.

My Mother's Day card.

This is the card Robert made for me for Mother's Day. (He chose the design, and I embossed the vellum. He wasn't up to trying out the Big Shot. LOL) He colored the vellum with Real Red and Pixie Pink markers. The inside is adorable. He stamped a guy and the dog from All in the Family, and he used the ink pad from one of the tattoo kits so Biscuit could sign the card, too. I was so thrilled that he made me a card. Although, he did say it was way too stressful and next time he was buying one! LOL I think he did a great job!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and a great start to the new week!

A Mother's Day rose

I decided to try my hand at watercoloring the flower from Fifth Avenue Floral. I have seen different ones all over blogland. I stamped mine in Versamark on Shimmery White cardstock. After embossing with White EP, I cut it out and sprayed it with water. I used my aquapainter to add Regal Rose, Pumpkin Pie and Pink Passion to all the white spaces. I added the flower to my Top Note made from Sweet Always DSP after tying a piece of Whisper White satin ribbon around it. I stamped my sentiment (I used markers to omit the swirls) on Shimmery White and punched it out with the Scalloped Oval punch. It's adhered with dimensionals. I used the same piece of Sweet Always DSP to wrap my mom's gift.

Here's a picture of just the card. I hope you can see the shimmer. It is so pretty IRL. :)
Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Fifth Ave Floral, All Holidays. Ink- Regal Rose, Pink Passion, Pumpkin Pie, Versamark. Paper- Whisper White, Shimmery White, Sweet Always DSP. Accessories- Big Shot, SU! Exclusive Top Note die, White EP, Scalloped Oval punch, Whisper White satin ribbon.

It's the last day of Teacher Appreciation Week... in my neck of the woods. Here is the last of the TAW gifts. Today's "theme" at school was to tell your teacher how sweet they are and bring them their favorite candy. Lauren's teacher has 2 faves...Twizzlers and Skittles. We have given her lots of Twizzlers over the past 2 school years (my son had her for 5th grade last year!), so we went with Skittles for today.

I used Summer Picnic DSP (retired) to wrap the bag of candy and for the background layer on the card. The sentiment on the card is from Full of Life. I used markers to get the different color words. I doodled around the edge with a marker, too. ;) The flower on the envelope is from Best Wishes and More. I hope she enjoys it. I'm sure she'll have enough candy to get her through the summer now. LOL

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Full of Life, Best Wishes and More. Ink- Real Red, Bashful Blue, Old Olive. Paper- Whisper White, Real Red, Summer Picnic (retired).

Inspiration Thursday

It seems like the weeks are going by faster and faster. It's time again for the UDI Inspiration Challenge. Click here to find the original challenge and the other team members' creations.

I don't have any frog stamps so I went with the color scheme for this week's card. I used Kiwi Kiss for the green and a Clearly Thanks window sheet. The embellishment is a Jumbo grommet and a Kiwi Kiss corduroy brad. This was a quick, easy card.

Have a terrific Thursday!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Whisper White, Kiwi Kiss. Ink- none. Accessories- Jumbo grommet, Kiwi Kiss corduroy brad.

WICKED Butterfly box

Hello! I was checking out SCS tonight and came across this month's WICKED challenge for SU! demos. (Here's a link if you're a demo and would like to see this month's challenges!) This butterfly box is the 3D challenge for May. Isn't it just fantastic!?! I made mine using the template and the SU! Exclusive Beautiful Butterflies die for my Big Shot. The DSP is from the Level 3 Hostess set Hand Drawn Bundle. The solid cardstock is Old Olive. I made the antennae from a piece of Whisper White taffeta. I will definitely be making more of these!

I know...what an oxymoron! LOL After the day I have had, I am happy it'll only be Monday for another 40 minutes or so. ;)

The base is Baja Breeze, and I put strips of Sweet Always DSP on all the sides and the top. The handle is a piece of So Saffron grosgrain from SAB. An image from Oval All finishes off the front of the box. Inside are lots of yummy dark chocolate Kisses. :)

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Oval All. Paper- Whisper White, Baja Breeze, Sweet Always DSP. Ink- Ruby Red. Accessories- Big Shot, Box #2 die, Scalloped Oval punch, Large Oval punch, So Saffron grosgrain (SAB), Crop-a-dile.

A Teacher Appreciation Week Gift

This project is for my daughter's teacher. She'll be giving it to Mrs. Boner (it's pronounced bonner!) one day next week. I found this great scratch pad holder on Connie Stewart's blog. As soon as I saw it, I knew I had to make one!

All you need is one piece of 8.5" X 11" cardstock. Cut one piece to 4" X 8.5" and the other to 7.5" X 6.25". Score the smaller piece at 1 3/8" on all sides. Snip the corners and fold into shape. This is the lid. Score the larger piece at 15/16" on all sides. Snip the corners and fold into shape. This will be the bottom. The lid slips over the bottom. I just love it! I cut some printer paper into 4 .25" X 5.5" pieces for the inside of the box. I hope my daughter's teacher likes it. I think I'm going to make one for my desk at work! Thanks, Connie, for sharing your brilliant idea! :)

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Lovely Letters. Paper- Groovy Guava (retired), Ruby Red, Ginger Blossom DSP (retired). Accessories- Groovy Guava ribbon (retired), Scallop Circle punch, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle punches, dimensionals, Sticky Strip.
