Desktop Create-a-Calendar

I finally ordered a calendar kit from the Holiday mini. Here's my desktop version. I haven't seen one like it anywhere, so I'm pretty excited. LOL

I used a Large Book Basics for the outside. I cut it in half and adhered Bashful Blue cardstock to the outside and Bashful Blue Patterns DSP (Hostess Level 1) to the inside. I decorated the front with the paper that SU! used for the pocket in their sample. I have left it pretty plain because I haven't decided who this is for yet. I'll personalize it a bit more when I figure out who will be getting it. The calendar pages are adhered to the book basics with jumbo eyelets. There are 2 in back and 2 in front. I used my Crop-a-dile to make all the holes and set the eyelets. All together it's about 1/4" thick. The crop-a-dile had no problem. I also used it to make the holes in the sides. I used 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain to attach the sides together.

I would love to know what you think of my version!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Bashful Blue, Bashful Blue Patterns DSP (Hostess Level 1), Whisper White. Ink- none. Accessories- Create-a-Calendar, 1/4" Old Olive grosgrain, jumbo eyelets, Crop-a-dile, Large Book Basics.

I'm late...I'm late! :)

I had so much fun yesterday! My MIL's workshop was a blast! 2 of her sisters had never made cards before, and they loved it! :) The workshop started a little after 9 am. We worked on 3 cards. One I posted yesterday, and the other 2 are today's post. After we finished, they all worked on some Roof Garden Elements cards. My MIL bought each of them a tin. I showed off the Big Shot and just hung out with them. After we finished stamping for the day, it was after 3 pm! We went to the Don Cesar and hung out there for a while. The sunset was beautiful from the beach. After that, it was off to dinner. I am so glad I let my daughter talk me in to staying. We had some yummy Italian food. We arrived home at almost 10 last night. That's why there was no Friday post. I was just too pooped to post! LOL

The Lovely as a Tree card is just a tweaking of the one posted here. I didn't have enough Night of Navy cardstock to make whole cards, so I just used Whisper White for the base. I also added some Iridescent Ice all over the trees.

The Scalloped Ornament card is made from the Scalloped Circle Sizzix die and the Round Tab punch. They are all over SCS, and they are so fun!

I hope everyone in the USA is enjoying the Thanksgiving holiday! I hope everyone else has a wonderful weekend!

Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you are all having a wonderful Thanksgiving Day here in the USA! Now it's on to the Christmas season! :)

My MIL is having a workshop tomorrow morning. This is one of the cards we'll be making. I'll show the other 2 tomorrow. I really like it. I think it could be mailed with only one stamp. I would just put an extra piece of paper over the top so the brad won't stick up too much. I used Whisper White as the card base. Baja Breeze is the next layer. The Top Note die is cut from Whisper White and a piece of Ski Slope DSP. I tore off the edge of the DSP Top Note. The snowflake is a Sizzix die. I used my 2-way glue pen to add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter. It's attached with a Silver brad. The banner is just a strip of Whisper White. I inserted the ends into my 3/4" square punch diagonally to make the flag ends. The sentiment is from the Holiday Collection kit and is stamped in Bordering Blue.

Don't eat too much turkey today! Enjoy your family and friends!

Teacher Turkey Card

Tomorrow is the last day of school for the week here. I made a card for my daughter's teacher. It's the Scalloped Circle punch turkey that was shown in October's Stampin' Success (a monthly magazine exclusively for SU! demos). I think he turned out so cute! He's much smaller than the 1st turkey I made! LOL You can see that one in this post.

I hope she enjoys her card and her vacation!

Featured Stamper Sunday

Today's Featured Stamper on SCS is ebethneu. Here is the card I chose to CASE for the challenge. I changed the colors and the stamp set and left off the buttons.

Three of the images from Merry and Bright were stamped on Whisper White in Jet Black Stazon and colored with markers and a blender pen. The images were cut out and layered on Chocolate Chip Scalloped Squares. A piece of Holiday Treasures DSP is adhered to the Kraft card base, and a length of Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain is tied around the seam. The sentiment is stamped on a scrap of Whisper White in Jet Black Stazon and punched out with the Word Window punch.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine went by way too fast!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Merry and Bright. Paper- Kraft, Whisper White, Chocolate Chip, Holiday Treasures DSP. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, assorted SU! markers. Accessories- Scalloped Square punch, Word Window punch, Chocolate Chip 5/8" grosgrain.

A 12th birthday card!

Happy Saturday morning!

Today's is my son's 12th birthday party. This is his birthday card. I had strict instructions that there be no glitter or ribbon anywhere on the card. LOL I can't believe he is going to be 12 on Monday. Where does the time go?

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge for the layout. His favorite color is red, so that was easy enough. I just pulled out my Hostess Level 1 pack of Patterns DSP and picked one that wasn't too girlie. ;) I used Party Hearty for the images. The brads are from the Bold Brights assortment. Easy peasy and not a bit of glitter of scrap of ribbon anywhere!

We're off to pick up his cake and a few last minute items, and then we're heading for the park. His daddy was at the park before 4 this morning. There's only one shelter open, and it's first come, first served. All the other shelters are reservations only. The early bird gets the worm, you know. (Someone else showed up at 5 am, but they were just a bit too late!) Makes for quite a day. Anything for your kids! :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Party Hearty. Paper- Whisper White, Real Red, Real Red Patterns DSP. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Real Red, Close to Cocoa. Accessories- Bold Brights brads assortment, mat pack (for brad placement), Crop-a-dile, 3/4" circle punch, 1 3/8" circle punch, 1 3/4" circle punch, dimensionals.

UDI Inspiration Challenge #18

It's Thursday and time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge! I can't believe we're up to 18 already!

Today's inspiration picture came from When I first saw it, I thought of Crazy for Cupcakes. I didn't want to use that set, though, so I kept looking at it. That's when I noticed the background. I have some retired Prints DSP, but it wasn't the yellow and white, it was just 2-tone yellow. I decided to use my Paisley background stamp. I stamped it on Barely Banana with Whisper White craft ink and heat embossed with White EP. Then I used my Big Shot and the SU! Exclusive Top Note die to cut the shape. I tied a piece of So Saffron ribbon around it and tied the sentiment on with some Linen Thread. The sentiment is from Inspired by Nature and is stamped with Jet Black Stazon and punched out with the Wide Oval punch. Barely Banana is wiped all around the oval.
The original challenge can be seen on the UDI blog. If you decide to play along, leave me a link!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Paisley, Inspired by Nature. Paper- Whisper White, Barely Banana. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Whisper White craft. Accessories- Big Shot, Top Note die, Linen thread, So Saffron polytwill, Wide Oval punch, White EP.

A Scalloped Turkey

Happy Wednesday! I am so excited! I registered for the Stampin' Up! Orlando Regional this morning! I can't wait!

Can you believe there's just one week until Thanksgiving here in the USA?!

I'm sure most of you (probably all of you!) have seen the adorable turkeys made out of SU! punches all over the web. I decided to make one of my own. Instead of using the Scallop Circle punch, I used the Scallop Circle Sizzix Die! My Tom Turkey is 7" high and 6 1/4" wide! I'm thinking he would make a fantastic centerpiece or a piece of framed art or even an embellishment for a scrapbook page.

I used some retired DSP for his tailfeathers just in case he didn't turn out the way I planned. ;) The tailfeathers are 3 Scallop Circles. I cut them all at once with my SU! Big Shot! I scored them at 11 scallops and folded that piece. Then I turned the circle over and folded it in half. Next, fold the flat edges in to the halfway score mark. Tom's body is the 2nd circle in on the Coluzzle. His head is the 5th circle in on the Coluzzle. His feet are 3 petals from the 5-petal flower punch. His beak is one petal from the 5-petal flower punch. His hat is a 1 1/4" square punch and a Word Window punch. The band is another Word Window punch cut to size. His eyes are 1/2" circles with 3/8" Crop-a-dile punched circles on top. Tom's buttons are 3/4" circles and match his hat band. :)

I think he turned out really cute! I'd love to know what you think of him!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Close to Cocoa, Chocolate Chip, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Basic Black, Apple Cider DSP (retired). Ink- none. Accessories- Big Shot, Scallop Circle die, 5-petal punch, Word Window punch, 1 1/4" Square punch, 3/4" circle punch, 1/2" circle punch, Crop-a-dile, Coluzzle.

A Country Living Kit Ornament

I decided to mount and use my Country Living stamp set and kit today. I don't know why I waited so long. There are so many pieces in the kit. This is just one of many items that can be created.

I made an ornament with the chipboard and die-cut DSP. I covered each side with a different design. I adhered the DSP with Tombow Mono Multi. The hole at the top was punched with my crop-a-dile. I tied some Silver cord at the top, and it's ready to go on my tree next weekend. The crop-a-dile is the only thing that didn't come in the kit! :)

Supplies(all SU!): Country Living Holiday Collection Stampin' Kit, Crop-a-dile.

A Scalloped Envelope Card

Happy Sunday!

I am still playing with my new Scalloped Envelope die and my Big Shot! I love the Big Shot!

Today's project is a card with the envelope as an embellishment. Isn't it just the cutest! ;)

I pulled out some retired papers today. (I need to use my stash!) The card base is Purely Pomegranate. The DSP is Cutie Pie. I scalloped the edge of the DSP and layered it on a piece of So Saffron before adhering it to the base. The envelope is a SU! exclusive die. The flower on the gift card enclosure is also a SU! exclusive die, Birds & Blooms. I used Shimmery White layered on So Saffron for the base of the gift card enclosure. Some Whisper White taffeta tied around the envelope is the finishing touch. I'll add a sentiment later.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Shimmery White, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Purely Pomegranate (retired), Cutie Pie DSP (retired). Ink- none. Accessories- Big Shot, Scalloped Envelope die, Birds & Blooms die, So Saffron brad, Whisper White taffeta, Scalloped Edge punch.

Scalloped Envelope Box

I am always the last on the block to get the new toy. LOL I finally got my Scalloped Envelope die that was backordered. It was delivered yesterday, but I wasn't home. After work, I picked up my kiddos from school, and we headed out to Fort DeSoto Park for a camping weekend. I am not really the camping type unless we're at Fort Wilderness at Disney World. LOL I came home today with the dog (she doesn't like camping, either LOL), and it sure is quiet. :(

Anywho, I just had to make a cute little box with my new die. I used some Ginger Blossom DSP (retired) and finished it off with a Groovy Guava faux bow. Some yummy dark chocolate in a cello bag tied up with more Groovy Guava ribbon (retired) makes it just perfect! ;)

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Ginger Blossom DSP (retired). Ink- none. Accessories- Big Shot, Scalloped Envelope die, crease pad, Groovy Guava ribbon (retired), small cello bag.

Inspired Sympathy

It's Thursday! That means time for another UDI Inspiration Challenge!

Here's today's pic. Feel free to play along! Make sure you leave me a link to your creation if you do!

I made a very simple card today. It's a sympathy card for a co-worker who had to put his dog down on Saturday, and then lost his grandma on Sunday.

I used the colors and the layout for inspiration. I scored 3 lines with my paper trimmer and bone folder on the far left side. I made the main panel by using the baby wipe technique. I don't have any baby wipes, though, so I used antibacterial hand wipes instead. I used Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Blue Bayou and Soft Sky reinkers. It was very easy and not very messy. :) The sentiment is stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with Black EP.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Best Yet (Hostess Level 1). Paper- Baja Breeze, Glossy White. Ink- Versamark. Accessories- Reinkers (Pacific Point, Baja Breeze, Blue Bayou & Soft Sky), hand wipes.

What not to do with embossing powder!

What a mess! I couldn't find my embossing buddy. This is supposed to be a card for the sketch challenge over on SCS, but I don't think I'll be submitting it. LOL I could not get the stray embossing powder off the cardstock. Not a pretty picture. Please, make sure you have your embossing buddy in a safe place so you can actually use it when you're embossing. ;) Oh! I used my Scalloped Edge punch to make the large rectangle behind the main image panel. There's a great tutorial here.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Lovely as a Tree. Paper- Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgandy, Kraft. Ink- Versamark. Accessories- Gold EP, Scalloped Edge punch, Scalloped Square punch, 1 1/4" Square punch.

A trinket box

After I finished cleaning house today, I sat down to spend some time on SCS. I came across a post which linked to a super-cute Halloween box using the fabulous SU! Exclusive Sizzix Top Note die and a version of Jen del Muro's mini pizza box. I just had to make one of my own. ;) I used the Roof Garden Accents & Elements to embellish my box along with the Cute & Curly stamp set and Curly Label punch. The sentiment is from Bitty Basics (Level 1 Hostess).

You can find the Halloween box and instructions on Angie's blog here.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Cute & Curly, Bitty Basics (Level 1 Hostess). Paper- Whisper White, Basic Gray. Ink- Not Quite Navy. Accessories- Roof Garden Accents & Elements, Big Shot, SU! Exclusive Top Note die, Whisper White taffeta, Basic Gray taffeta, crop-a-dile, sticky strip.

A Sketch Challenge for Laurie

Today's card uses SC201 over on SCS. I really like the sketch. It's great for using up retired Designer Series paper. ;) I used up some of my stash of Apple Cider DSP from the last winter mini. I love these colors together. My base is River Rock cardstock. The DSP panels and the Whisper White image panel are matted on Basic Black cardstock. I stamped the flower from One of a Kind in Jet Black Stazon and colored it in with River Rock reinker and a blender pen. The sentiment is stamped in Jet Black Stazon also. To finish, I tied some Basic Black gingham in a one-hole bow.

This card is on its way to Montana as I type. It's for Laurie (Lauraly on SCS) to know that I'm thinking of and praying for her and Ali and her whole family. I sent a card for Ali, too. It's this one that I posted here. Ali is really sick and can use prayers from all of us.

I hope you have a fantastic weekend! See you back here tomorrow!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- One of a Kind, Warmest Regards (retired). Paper- Whisper White, Basic Black, River Rock (retired), Apple Cider DSP (retired). Ink- Jet Black Stazon. Accessories- River Rock reinker (retired), blender pen, Basic Black gingham.

UDI Inspiration Challenge #16

Time for another inspiration challenge. It must be Thursday! ;)

This is the 2nd card I've done with my new Top Note die! I just love this thing! I first adhered squares of DSP that I punched with my 1 1/4" Square punch to a piece of Whisper White. Then I ran it through my Big Shot with the SU! Exclusive Top Note die. I cut off the outer edge at the perforation and layered my "quilt" on another Top Note I cut out of Whisper White. The Top Notes were adhered to the Pretty in Pink card base with Tombow Mono Multi. The sentiment is from Best Yet (hostess Level 1) and it's punched out with the Curly Label punch. Pretty in Pink taffeta tied up in a bow finishes off the card. This will be my niece's 1st birthday card.

Check out Maria's take on the inspiration picture over on the UDI blog. ETA: Can you believe we had the same inspiration!? Great minds think alike! ;)

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Best Yet (Hostess Level 1). Paper- Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink and Certainly Celery Prints DSP (retired), Kraft Patterns DSP (Hostess Level 1). Ink- Pretty in Pink. Accessories- Big Shot, Top Note die, Curly Label punch, Pretty in Pink taffeta.

Swirled Top Note

Happy Wednesday! Another day closer to Friday! WooHoo!

Today's card is going to a new friend over at SCS. Check out this thread. :)

This is the first card I've made using my new SU! Exclusive Sizzix Top Note die! It's the perfect shape and size for a cardfront...and I know you've all seen the fabulous owls, Frankenstein's monsters, bag toppers, etc. all over the place. I can't wait to start CASEing!

The card base is Brilliant Blue stamped with the medium snowflake from Snow Swirled. The Top Note is Shimmery White. I used my Brilliant Blue marker to trace around the perforation. The tree is stamped with Versamark and heat embossed with Silver EP. The greeting is stamped in Brilliant Blue. To finish it off, I tied some Silver Cord around the top.

Don't forget to come by tomorrow to see the UDI Inspiration Challenge!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Snow Swirled. Paper- Shimmery White, Brilliant Blue. Ink- Versamark, Brilliant Blue. Accessories- Big Shot machine, Top Note die, Silver cord, Silver EP.

A Medallion Ornament

Another Becca project! :) Yesterday's challenge on SCS was to make a circle medallion. I made mine into an ornament. I used my Coluzzle to make the smaller circles, and I used my Big Shot and the Scallop Circle die for the largest circle. The white circle is Shimmery White paper, but I wasn't able to capture the shimmer in the picture. I used Stampin' Up!'s retired Wrought Iron Corner punch for the medallion. The cute little snowman from Merry & Bright is stamped in Jet Black Stazon and colored with Stampin' Write markers in Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst and Pumpkin Pie. I punched a hole with my Crop-a-dile and threaded some Whisper White taffeta through for the hanger. This was much easier than it looks! Check out Becca's tutorial and give it a try!

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- Merry & Bright. Paper- Shimmery White, Bashful Blue. Ink- Jet Black Stazon, Bashful Blue, Almost Amethyst, Pumpkin Pie. Accessories- Wrought Iron punch (retired), Whisper White taffeta, Crop-a-dile, Coluzzle, Big Shot, Scallop Circle die.

Featured Stamper Challenge

The challenge today at SCS is the Featured Stamper. Today's gallery belongs to Becca Stamps. What a phenomenal talent! You have got to spend some time there! Here is the card I chose for my inspiration. I changed pretty much everything but the flower. I don't have Nestabilities, so I used my SU! Wide Oval punch for the petals. There are 5 petals made from So Saffron Prints DSP (retired) and 5 petals from Vellum cardstock. The center of the flower uses the circle punches in these sizes: 1 3/4", 1 3/8", 1 1/4" and 1". The very center is a So Saffron button "threaded" with Whisper White cardstock. The leaves are a piece of Old Olive cardstocked punched with the Large Oval punch, folded in half and then sent through the Crimper. The large scallop circle is the Sizzix Scallop Circle die. The pizza box is Chocolate Chip cardstock. You can find Jen del Muro's instructions here. There is a strip of So Saffron cardstock and some Chocolate Chip polytwill (retired) wrapped around the lid.

Supplies(all SU!): Stamps- none. Paper- Whisper White, So Saffron, Old Olive, So Saffron DSP, Vellum cardstock. Ink- none. Accessories- Circle punches: 1 3/4", 1 3/8", 1 1/4" and 1". Wide Oval and Large Oval punches, So Saffron button, Big Shot, Scallop Circle die, Chocolate Chip polytwill, pop-up glue dots, mini glue dots, sticky strip.
